Impressions of Scotland

Freezing. Freezing. Lots of fatty food. We had some wonderful friends we stayed with, David was on his mission with the husband. I was not accustomed to being so very cold. It was absolutely frigid the entire time we were there and furthermore it got dark at about 4:30pm every day which was somewhat depressing. I would like to go again during the summer when everything is green and not so snowy. While there, I ate some traditional Scottish food, such as haggis, fish and chips, Iron Bru, the soda native to Scotland, various stews, and any number of potato dishes. We did also eat some Indian food, which they seem to love in the UK, and although it wasn't as spicy and I liked, it was better than the Indian food in Paris, toned down for French tastes.

We had a lovely Christmas with the Coupers, who were incredibly kind in letting us join their family celebration. Their tradition including a short scripture reading and testimony meeting before the actual opening of gifts, which was nice. In my family we usually do that on Christmas eve.
