Lauren and I went to La Cigalle tonight and saw Janelle Monáe! One of the quickest (we got in the doors without waiting at around 7:45pm and were out the doors before 10:00pm) and most entertaining shows I've ever seen. Janelle Monáe was so little in person, but still gorgeous, and she is quite the entertainer. Seeing them perform Mushrooms and Roses in person was powerful. It made me realize how solid a guitarist the bizarre Kellindo Parker really is. I think I'm obsessed with him now.
When they performed Cold War the place went nuts. The floor of the Cigalle felt like it was going to shatter.Highlight of my week: when Janelle crowd-surfed and Lauren and I got to hold her up. I held her ribcage and right arm! Awesome.
