Michael and Anna Costa came over to Paris for Christmas vacation. We weren't around for most of their stay ('cause we were in Scotland) but we did catch a few choice dinners and photo-shoots with them before they left for home. It was fun to see them again; the last time I did anything with them was six years ago!
Monday, the 27th, we met up around noon to shoot some pictures for a while. The weather was absolutely horrid, and I was not dressed to fare it in cotton. So, after shooting around Hôtel de Ville for a bit, we grabbed a hot chocolate to warm up. Next up, we shot for a good while at Trocadero, froze, and dodged droves of tourists and African-street vendors. At the end of the day, we ended up at Lauren and I's favorite new café, Le Komptoir. We spent hours talking about our culture, our lifestyle choices, success, family, etc. It was refreshing, and invigorating to talk with some driven (slightly older) people trying to pursue their passions.
We all hung out some more over the next couple days; we got gelato, did some belated Christmas shopping, and did another shoot. Although all of our goals are different, we all connected in our similar desire to make a creative and fulling life possible. What was supposed to just be a couple hours of shooting photos and hanging out a bit turned into something a lot cooler.
